Gainful employment is another essential element of the recovery process. It is also necessary to enables our residents to take financial responsibility for themselves and their children upon successfully completing our program.
St. Martin de Porres offers education and employment services both onsite and in conjunction with other partners. Employment enables our residents to take financial responsibility for themselves and their children upon leaving House of Hope.
To equip our residents with the necessary tools to be competitive in today’s job market we offer:
- Computer Classes
- GED/Literacy Classes
- Referral services to employment and vocational programs
For our little ones, ages two to five we offer an on-site pre-school program that runs, Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.
This program is also available to children of former residents who are not able to afford daycare. We have a secure outdoor playground and try to schedule field trips at least two days per month.
Through the help of the Big Shoulders Fund and Visitation Catholic School, the children of our residents in grades K- 8 are able to receive a quality Catholic education at no cost.
